Dr. Berman graduated from New York University and the University of Miami Medical School. He did an internship at New York University Bellevue Medical Center in 1968. After a residency at Boston University Hospital and Manhattan’s prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital he began work as an Emergency Room Physician and opened a private Family Practice in New York. In 1975 Dr. Berman moved to California. He has practiced Emergency Room Medicine as a Board Certified Emergency Physician and private Family Practice as a Fellow of the American Board of Family Practice. In 1984 Dr. Berman became the originating director of Saddleback Family and Urgent Care Medical Group at Lake Forest and has since happily served in that capacity.
He enjoys the mix of chronic and acute problems that the Urgent Care presents and especially the opportunity to develop mutually satisfying long term relationships with his patients.
Dr. Berman speaks some medical Spanish and is ACLS certified. He is married to a photographer/artist and has one daughter who he is proud to have as a colleague in the Urgent Care. He enjoys reading, traveling and the practice and history of fine art.
